New found love!
Vitamin C-loaded drink from Oishi. Don’t be shocked, it contains as much as 500mg. Huwhhhhaaat?! Yup, you read it right haha.
Well, aside from the immune boosting benefits we get from taking C, I recently learned that it helps prevent osteoporosis. The scientist I talked to is still in the works about this; there is a good potential it can be used to prevent such. Likewise with Vitamin E.
Btw, there are three variants available in the market but for me Pomelo Grapefruit is the best.
I’m no doctor or anything but don’t worry about over dosage because vitamin C is water soluble. So what? That just means any excess intake will be excreted via body fluids. So chillax and load up!
Martini
It was the first time I tried this classic, well-esteemed cocktail and I gotta say that I’ll be back for more. I don’t have a high tolerance for alcohol hence I was tipsy after the first glass. But I think, I could down 2-3 glasses.
And if ever you are wondering how Martini got its name, well we gotta time travel to 1862 in San Francisco.
A cocktail named after nearby the town of Martinez was served at the Occidental Hotel. People drank at the hotel before taking the evening ferry to Martinez across the bay. The original cocktail consisted of two ounces of Italian “Martini and Rosso” sweet vermouth, one ounce Old Tom sweet gin, two dashes maraschino cherry liquid, one dash bitters, shaken, and served with a twist of lemon. But nowadays, Martini is simpler. The one I tried was Martini with dry olives. There are other variations you could try, but I just like that one.
And get this, Martini recipes were included in James Bond novels! It appeared in Casino Royale and Live and Let Die books.
If you haven’t tried it, then make sure your next visit to the bar is worth it.
Happiness is a dry martini and a good woman…or a bad woman.

As a police psychologist works to talk down an ex-con who is threatening to jump from a Manhattan hotel rooftop, the biggest diamond heist ever committed is in motion… (IMDb)
A better Sam Worthington film than The Debt.
What I like about this film, is mainly the plot. Nick Cassidy, Sam’s character in the movie, fakes as a jumper to divert all the attention towards him and so his brother and brother’s gf can elusively steal a diamond.
But of course, it wouldn’t be that easy for everyone. There are surprising twists and turns that makes this film enjoyable.
Watch it!
I suggest the official sound tract for this movie be The Script’s ‘The Man Who Can’t be Moved’, or else he’d fall! Sam’s the man who can’t be moved…
PS. Elizabeth Banks here is serious mode on. My best memory of her was her flirtatious character in ‘Catch Me if You Can’ and her loud persona in her guesting in ‘Modern Family’.
Minuit que coq de combat!
Ahahaha. When I was carrying Minuit around, I faked a lot of people. They thought I have a fighting cock until Minuit pops out her head and then people just laugh.
Minuit is a Dachshund, kind of small dog breed. Since she is just 2mos old, which really makes her miniature, I decided to buy a cheaper dog cage to carry her whenever we need to go. A typical dog cage costs php700 - php1300, but this one is just one hundred bucks! It is cheap, convenient to carry and of course, serves its purpose (ang taba ng utak ko, hehe). But we would still buy a real one when she is bigger. Maybe by then it will only cost us php100!
HAPPY EGG SALAD MONDAY!
Haven’t heard of the occasion? Then read on!
Egg Salad Monday is defined as the day after Easter Sunday when everyone has a surplus of hard boiled eggs. These eggs are often used up by making egg salads! But here in the Philippines, this is equivalent to Happy Tukneneng Monday! Though I think it would be lucky enough if these eggs could still see the next day becase we are forever in The Hunger Games!
Wouldn’t it be challenging enough for kids if we use quail eggs for Easter egg hunt? We will not only promote fun but hardship as well. Though we hope that they feel the former better. If ever then, the following day will be called Happy Kwek Kwek Monday!
